The Extravagance of Dubai
Dubai is one of the most extravagant countries in the world. Dubai contains an extraordinary amount of ravishing tourist sites. I had the opportunity to visit the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. It was well worth the hype as it had an astonishing view and facts about how the building was written in the halls. Shopping was one of my top activities to do when I visited Dubai. The Dubai Mall is one of the world's largest malls, containing around twelve million square feet! As you would expect it took many hours to shop and I had to eventually leave the mall so I would not spend more money. Unless you have a sensitive stomach I recommend going on a Desert Safari! It is not a typical safari where you go through a forest examining the different animals and nature it is an exhilarating ride in a jeep going up and down sand hills. I felt as if the car was going to flip constantly though the joyful ride was done safely.
Culture
What defines Dubai? what pops into your head when you hear the word Dubai? For many people and for me before I visited Dubai all I thought of was the wealth the country carried as the media only displays this. After I visited though I realized hospitality, architecture, music, dances, religion, hard work, and many more signs of good culture are instilled in the culture of Dubai. I went to Gold Souk of Dubai, a market to buy and sell precious metals, in search of jewelry and happened to stay at a store for a while looking through everything and making a purchase. As a result, the owner of the store provided amazing hospitality and offered me the best chicken shawarma wrap I have ever had. In the city area of Dubai, the architecture was gorgeous. They have multiple buildings that took many years and effort to create adding uniqueness to the country. These factors are what makes Dubai a powerhouse country full of hard-working people striving to better their society each day.
Other cultural diffrences
Dubai is a Muslim country therefore some differences are not so common in other non-muslim countries. For example, every day at a certain time prayers is played usually at most places in the city though there is no need for foreigners to change their behavior. How you dress can also matter in Dubai as in some places it is looked down upon for people especially women to have a lot of skin showing. Dubai is also full of diversity as many people migrate there from different countries seeking job opportunities because of the economic upswing.
In the end, Dubai is a place I would recommend everyone to visit. The people, the scenery, and the countless activities to do makes Dubai a place of beauty and attracts more and more tourist each year.
